Worship for April 26, 2020

A Prayer for Preparing to Worship:

Bless us, O God, with a reverent sense of your presence,

that we may be at peace and may worship you with all our mind and spirit;

through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Welcome and Introduction:

From Pastor Jeff Foels

Opening Prayer and Scripture Reading:

Prayer of the Day:

God of Creation,

We give thanks for the goodness of the earth that you made and sustain.

Our voices join in praise with all creation: with the sea that roars, the trees that clap their hands,

and the birds that sing in joy. Unite us by your spirit, that we may be signs of your abundant

mercy and live in thanksgiving for your grace,

as we wait for the completion of your creation in Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.

Scripture: Psalm 148

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise God in the heights! Praise God, all the angels; praise God, all the host! Praise God, sun and moon; praise God, all you shining stars! Praise God, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for God commanded and they were created. The Lord established them for ever and ever; God fixed their bounds, which cannot be passed. Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea monsters and all deeps, fire and hail, snow and frost, stormy wind fulfilling the command! Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! Wild animals and all cattle, creeping things and flying birds! Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth! Young men and women alike, old and young together! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for God’s name alone is exalted; God’s glory is above earth and heaven. God has raised up a horn for the people, praise for all the faithful, for the people of Israel who are close to the Lord. Praise the Lord!

Passing of the Peace:

We encourage you to contact others in the church, to reach out and connect,

to check in on those that might need help,

and to let other know the help you need, in mind, body, and spirit

in this uncertain time.

Message and Prayer:

By Pastor Jeff Foels

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
